Lubrication Mechanism of scCO2-MQL in the Assisted Machining of Titanium Alloys

Cutting fluids are often used in the machining of titanium alloys to reduce processing temperature and maximize quality productivity. The permeability cutting fluid capillary tube directly influences effect lubrication on cooling performance. In this study, supercritical carbon dioxide cryogenic micro-lubrication (scCO2-MQL) is for auxiliary alloys. A model scCO2-MQL-assisted proposed established while considering characteristics three-phase states produced during decompression release scCO2. injection scCO2 experimentally investigated, dynamic process scCO2-MQL penetration into analyzed. results show that under applied experimental conditions, ranges from approximately −45 °C 60 °C. Because presents good solubility oil, it has capacity refine oil droplets smaller particles, thus resulting a higher lubricating content per unit time. This leads enhanced lubricity can benefit applications.
